– OUR STORY

How WYAF came to be

The Youth Ministry of the Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement (WCCRM) has always carried a clear mandate to raise exemplary young adults who would be the extension of God's arm in all facets of life. For decades, the Youth Ministry faithfully ran its programs. But a pattern began to emerge: young adults were transitioning from the youth ministry into the adult church before they were truly ready spiritually unanchored, purpose-unclear, and often disengaged. Many left altogether, leaving a growing gap in the movement's continuity of vision.

""As a means of correcting this lapse, creating and building up a balanced youth, the Youth Ministry strategized a more effective way to reach out to the youths."

This need gave birth to the Watchman Young Adults' Forum - WYAF. A dedicated platform to bridge the gap, retain young adults within the ministry, and groom them holistically for the enormous task ahead. Not just spiritually, but in health, education, career, business, and global awareness.

– THE JOURNEY

Milestones that shaped us

THE BEGINNING — WCCRM FOUNDED
Pastor Aloysius Chukwuemeka Ohanebo founded the Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement in 1985 in Lagos, Nigeria establishing the parent ministry that would anchor all future youth work.
THE PROBLEM IDENTIFIED
After decades of youth ministry, leadership recognized a critical gap: young adults were churning out of the youth ministry prematurely, unready for the broader platform of life and faith.
WYAF ESTABLISHED
The Watchman Young Adults’ Forum was created a dedicated, structured platform to retain, ground, and deploy young adults in every sphere of life and ministry.
PROGRAMS LAUNCHED
AFLAME!, ARISE, TWSWBA, Singles Summit, the Mentorship Programme, and WYAF Online were progressively launched each addressing a specific dimension of young adult development.
TODAY — A MOVEMENT GROWING
WYAF now operates across multiple branches nationwide, running transformational programs, building a digital community, and raising a generation ready to carry the vision of WCCRM forward.

– WHAT WE STAND FOR

Our Core Values

WYAF is not just an organization; it is a movement shaped by convictions. These values define how we operate, who we are becoming, and the culture we intentionally build in every program, gathering, and interaction. They are rooted in the Word of God, aligned with the vision of WCCRM, and expressed in the daily lives of every Watchman young adult.

01
FAITH & SPIRITUALITY
Everything we do flows from a deep conviction in the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. Prayer, worship, and Scripture are the bedrock of every WYAF experience.
02
PURPOSE & IDENTITY
We believe every young adult carries a God-given purpose. WYAF exists to help each person discover, own, and walk in that purpose with confidence and clarity.
03
EXCELLENCE
We hold ourselves to the highest standard in every sphere—academics, business, ministry, and character. Excellence is not optional; it is the standard of kingdom representation.
04
COMMUNITY
We are stronger together. WYAF builds authentic, life-giving community where young adults are known, supported, challenged, and celebrated—no one navigates life alone here.
05
RELEVANCE
We train young adults to be significant in their world—not just in the church, but in business, education, media, and every sector where God has placed them.
06
CONTINUITY OF VISION
WYAF exists to ensure the WCCRM vision lives on. We are the generation that will carry the baton—not because we were assigned, but because we are called and ready.

– OUR FOUNDATION

Rooted in WCCRM

WYAF does not stand alone. We are the young adult arm of the Watchman Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement; a Spirit-filled, Pentecostal church founded in 1985 that has grown to over 120,000 members nationwide.

The WCCRM carries a five-fold vision: renewal, salvation, unity, healing, and warning. WYAF exists as the living expression of this vision in the lives of young adults ensuring the movement's mission is carried forward by a generation that is prepared, passionate, and present. Everything WYAF does is anchored in the WCCRM mission statement rooted in Isaiah 49:5–6 - "bringing Jacob again to Him."
